Esther Flynn Speech and Language Therapy Ltd supports children in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We can offer individualised, flexible and specialist assessment and input to children with communication difficulties, and those who support them. We aim to keep assessment waiting times as short as possible, and can provide follow up support if needed.
COVID 19 statement 15.1.21: We are providing assessment and therapy services via Zoom video conferencing platform having closely reviewed Government advice following the latest lockdown measures.
We are offering face-to-face appointments for assessment and therapy sessions for clients where video conferencing is not possible or suitable. A risk assessment and guidelines are available on request.
This will be reviewed and updated in accordance with up-to-date Government guidance on a continual basis.

Initial AssessmentAssessments can be arranged in either children's homes or another location such as nursery or school. Initial assessment takes up to 1.5 hours and a brief summary report will be provided. If more detailed assessment is required this can be individualised according to need. Assessments and reports can be provided to support the EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) application process.

Therapy SessionsTherapy sessions can take place in children's homes or in nursery or school. The frequency can be tailored to the child's needs. Therapy can be delivered on a 1:1 or small group basis. Communicating and collaborating with parents and support staff is a central part of therapy. Advice, strategies and resources will be provided to support therapy input. Therapy sessions last for 45 minutes. The focus is on developing communication skills through fun and engaging, child-centred activities.

Training and support packages can also be designed and delivered for schools, nurseries and other professionals. These can be based around the needs of specific children, or can be general training designed to focus on different aspects of language difficulties. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
